For my birthday last year, my friend Jeff gave me an amazing CD, by talented singer/songwriter Daniel Kamas.  I love all the songs, and I wish I lived in Seattle so that I could hear him live….Alas I do not, but I listen to his music all the time, including this morning on my commute into work.  It was the PERFECT soundtrack to the thick wall of fog standing over the water.

My favorite part of this song is the intro.  The first time I heard it, I thought it sounded a bit familiar.  I eventually figured out that it’s kind of similar to the intro of Ray LaMontagne’s “Empty“.  Empty is just a bit slower, and a bit sadder, and down a key or two.  Both Kamas and LaMontagne are amazing songwriters, with gorgeous voices.  Check ’em out!!
