Historically, Friday the 13ths have been good to me.  Yesterday may be been the best of them all, as I landed a job in my dream career.  To celebrate, I’m posting this excellent Stevie Wonder song, Superstition.    The lyrics to the chorus are:   “When you believe in things that you don’t understand, then you suffer.  Superstition ain’t the way.”

I LOVE the opening drum beat.  It sets you right into the groove of the song.  I also love the clavinet line – which I originally thought was a bass line (my bad).  Wonder recorded both the drums and clavinet for this song.  I think the sax and trumpet add a lot, too.  Stevie Wonder is the best.  And this song is one of my favorites – just as long as you keep the Jonas Brothers out of it.
